Barbie Corbett-Newmin is a very talented and active artist from Florida. She is passionate about traveling and she loves having actionable artistic visions when a camera is handy! She sold creative works as an oil painter, water colorist, ceramic artist (trained at historic Pewabic Pottery), copper enameler, and photographer and much of her professional graphic arts experience was as an employee or owner of award-winning Detroit area advertising agencies. Also, she proudly served on the Board of the Paint Creek Center for the Arts in Rochester, Michigan, and was a Founders Society member, Detroit Institute of Arts. Barbie is a current member of the Arts and Humanities Council of Charlotte County, Florida, and will be exhibiting in their Art in Public Places program.

Today, I'm happy to present her brilliant story behind her wonderful work "All Fore Naut" confirming my opinion why we should never stop creating any kind of art; despite some vulnerable times of doubt; no matter how many artworks exist and will always exist. Almost every piece of art gives a unique and unrepeatable perspective; a new vision that the others may not be aware of, even if it is in front of their eyes. They can discover it only through one artist's eyes and dreams.

"All Fore Naut" was created the last week in February this year," Barbie tell us. "As a former writer, I like plays on words and hope they add to my art works. Without telling the secret behind this "foredeck nautical" shot, I will say that I saw an opportunity to get a unique image. I fervently hoped that although probably over a million people had passed this spot, many of them many times, and therefore had had this opportunity, no one had done so. I took the shot in a crowd of people. Even the person asked to "please move to your right" so I could get the shot asked me later where it was taken, so I hope my secret is safe. I love this color combination and things nautical and I am a pretty good sailboat racer so it is even more special to me to have been able to create this. There is also a square version in a royal blue titled "Square Naut".

We love it too, Barbie, and thank you so much for sharing its story. You can find and follow Barbie Corbett-Newmin and her stunning work in her site:
