small prespa lake, greece

Before many decades, in the early years of 20th century, there were no small and big prespa lake. There was only one large lake and the people who lived in coastal villages, like Psarades, had fishing boats in front of their doors, in order to be able to go to other villages and places.

After many overflows of the Saint German torrent, which transferred soil, sand and other materials into the lake, a line of land gradually created and divided the lake in two parts. In this line, it was built later the main road of the region and from the side of large Prespa the beach (Plaz) Koula was formed.
